The Texas Tree Climbing Championship
(TTCC)
May 29-30, 2009
The Texas Chapter held
another successful Tree Climbing Championship this year. Thanks
to all the ISAT members and vendors who helped out. Miguel
Pastenes was the overall Texas winner and he will
represent Texas at the International Tree Climbing Championship
this July in Providence, RI.

Come to Austin and see if you have
what it takes to be the next Texas Tree Climbing Champion and
represent the Texas Chapter at the International Tree Climbing
Championship in St. Louis this July.

The five TTCC events are:
Work climb:
Contestants climb to five stations in a tree, performing a
different task at each station.
Aerial rescue: Contestants reach and safely lower
an injured climber (actually a life-sized mannequin)
Throwline: Tests contestants' agility to
accurately place lines about 50 feet up in a tree.
Belayed speed climb: Contestants ascend a
predetermined route from ground to about 50 feet.
Secured footlock: Measures climber's ability to
perform 40-foot vertical ascent using double-climbing line
2009 Pre-Championship Aerial Rescue Workshop (Thursday)
2009 Texas Tree Climbing Championship Participant Schedule
This is a 2-day event
with all five preliminary events starting on
Friday. Six climbers per group will rotate through events and
groups
will be pre-drawn; each group will draw numbers for starting
order. Climber rotation will change with each event.
