Arboriculture 101 Course
Get ready to take the Certified Arborist Exam or just brush up on your tree skills. Arboriculture 101 is a four-day short course designed to provide practitioners with an in-depth knowledge of how to care for urban trees. Dr. Todd Watson, an ISA Board-Certified Master Arborist integrates research and practical experience in his teaching style. The course is built around the 12 domains of the Certified Arborist Exam. Former students say the “quality of teaching was excellent” and the course was “very informative” and appreciated the “attention to real world issues”. Attendees routinely score significantly higher than the national average on the Certified Arborist Exam.

Texas Wildlife and Woodland Expo

Texas Wildlife and Woodland Expo & Spring Fling is designed to help families learn a little about the land on which they live — and how to best take care of it — through hands-on clinics, live demonstrations and children’s activities.

Though Expo & Spring Fling is an annual event, this year organizers have placed a special emphasis on helping residents recover from drought and wildfires.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a nature lover or outdoor enthusiast. It doesn’t matter if you’re an urban homeowner or a rural landowner. It doesn’t matter if you’ve got just one tree in your yard or thousands of them. Texas Wildlife and Woodland Expo & Spring Fling has got you covered.

We’ve got free, hands-on clinics and live demonstrations that will teach you how to nourish your plants and trees, attract wildlife to your property, collect and use rainwater and protect your home from wildfires.

And don’t forget to take your little ones to the Family Adventure Zone, where they can climb a rock wall, take a peek at a live screech owl and learn how to kayak.

At Expo & Spring Fling, you’ll play for a day but learn for a lifetime.

ArborPod
 ISA Launches ArborPod

Podcasts, or Personal On-demand Broadcasts, have become one of the most direct ways of receiving educational programming specific to a particular topic of interest through a series of digital audio or video recordings. How does a podcast work? Audio or video files can be automatically transmitted via Internet and downloaded to a personal computer, smart phone, or MP3 player. A podcast can be compared to a magazine subscription in that the user subscribes to a podcast series and new content is generated and received on a regular basis. ISA has identified this medium as a highly accessible and effective means of providing ongoing, arboricultural information to tree care professionals to address today’s most current and relevant topics. We are excited and proud to have launched the first series of ArborPod™—Science of Arboriculture—which is now available through iTunes.
